Biography
I specialize in working with women and men dealing with anxiety or sadness related to stress, loss, parenting issues, social anxiety, and stage-of-life transitions. I was trained in narrative therapy, through which people develop insights into their own deeply held values, along with skills needed to develop their preferred ways of living life. Sessions include collaborative, nonjudgmental discussions that help you unmask and let go of self-defeating thoughts that hold you back, thereby clearing the path for healing of the heart and mind.

My training includes earning certification as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher. As a qualified and experienced mindfulness instructor, I'm trained to teach clients how to benefit from the power of healing that mindfulness offers as an adjunct to therapeutic conversation. Letter- or journal-writing and expressive arts are more tools that many clients find useful in deepening their experience of fruitful transition.

I believe skilled and compassionate listening holds the key to successful therapy. I will ask you curious, respectful questions that help you explore your own deeply held values, in the context of the ways in which culture, ethnicity and gender norms have affected you in your life. Along with collaborative consultation, when appropriate, I offer mindfulness meditation or expressive arts as therapeutic, heart-opening tools for living with possibility, purpose, and ease.
