Monterey County Chapter

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility initiatives

2024

We Recognize where the Monterey Chapter of CAMFT has historically and currently been lacking in DEIA and have identified how our community is being affected.

The Monterey County Chapter of CAMFT is committed to…

  • Offering Continuing Education and social events on weekends as well as weekdays to accommodate members who work Monday through Friday and are unable to take time off on weekdays.

  • Offering  in-person events at venues that are accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Providing transcripts and translations of our CE events to member participants after the event to accommodate individuals who have differences in information processing or individuals whose first language is other than English.

  • Including a land acknowledgement in our newsletter and website homepage to increase awareness of Indigenous presence in Monterey County.

  • Continuing to seek more diversity on the Board of Trustees.

  • Dedicating our recruitment efforts to CAMFT members from different diverse communities through our recruitment committee.

  • Ensuring that topics and presenters at our events are increasingly diverse.

  • Initiating a scholarship program for members who need financial help with membership fees and continuing education hours.
