Biography
My name is Mark Sayre, MA, LMFT and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for integrating mindfulness practices with other therapeutic modalities to help people in their process of making changes in their lives, and reducing their experience of suffering due to symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), and a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Chapman University. While I was still in graduate school, I worked for a local company and provided behavioral support services to children on the Autism Spectrum. I then interned with a local non-profit agency and provided therapy services to individuals, and families, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills training groups, Parent Education Classes, and other trainings. I spent over 12-years with a county agency providing individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, consultation services, and trainings.

I have knowledge, training, and experience in the modalities of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills training, Family therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) among others. I have also provided numerous trainings for youth, school staff, county staff, and the general public on a variety of topics including Mindfulness, “Teens, Stress, and Mental Health,” Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA).

Working mindfully in the present moment, non-judgmentally, with acceptance, and compassion, I collaborate with clients to establish a therapeutic relationship in the context of a therapeutic and safe environment to help them identify and achieve their therapeutic goals.
