Biography
My name is Bobbi Ebsen, and I am a self made woman.

I am a candid, truthful, plain speaking, “tell you how it is” kind of a therapist. I grew up on a farm and I learned to speak my truth at a young age. I am not polished yet I am kind. If you want someone to tell you the truth about yourself, you have come to the right place. It might be a lot better then you think. :)

I have a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, New York, and Michigan. I am certified in EMDR and trained in several types of therapy treatment.

I provide mental health counseling services via telehealth to ages 12 years old and up.

Personally, I come from humble beginnings, growing up on a farm, 4th generation, in rural Nebraska. I attended one of the last remaining “one room schools” in our country. This has given me that “folksy Midwestern background” and made me a real “salt of the earth” person.

At 18 years old, I discovered the effectiveness of psychotherapy and thought, “If I could help one person the way my therapist has helped me as a teenager, my life would be worth living.”

I attended Hastings College in Nebraska on a basketball scholarship. Shortly after my sophomore year, I decided I wanted something different for my life, so I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado. I graduated with Honors, with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

After college, I joined the Peace Corps and went to the Dominican Republic, where I served for more than three years. For my service in the Peace Corps, I earned a merit scholarship from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, where I received my Masters in Clinical Social Work.

I have more than 20 years experience as a clinician. I have worked in various counseling settings, with people from diverse backgrounds with all kinds of traumas.

I am someone who leaves no stone unturned in my journey to grow into the best person I can be. I have continually sought new experiences, including:

Becoming a Teacher Certified Yoga Instructor at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in 2005.

Serving as a Crisis Corps Volunteer in Sri Lanka in the summer of 2006.

Completing in-depth meditation training, including one and a half years of training toward a Buddhist priest program while living in a Buddhist temple for more than four years.

Immersing myself in the language of Native American tools and beliefs for sometime, completing a Vision Quest through the Rites of Passages in 2023. In July 2024, I was honored to receive an Eagle Feather.

These life experiences have really shaped me into a veteran, seasoned therapist.

Currently, I enjoy living on the Central Coast of California, taking long walks on Carmel Beach, and experiencing all that Monterey County, California has to offer.

I am available to provide workshops on a variety of mental health topics.
