Biography
I am fortunate to have had broad and diverse educational, professional, and life-experiences. I have recently moved to California from Philadelphia. Previously I lived in four states and 10 years overseas in three different countries. Prior to my work in therapy, I taught students for ten years ranging from elementary grades, to high school, and at university levels. I bring that diversity of experience to bear in my work as a therapist. I combine a cross-culturally competent mind with a non-judgmental and empathetic concern for the other.

Before completing my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, I obtained a dual B.A. in English Literature and Philosophy and earned a Ph.D. in East-West Comparative Philosophy. My doctoral studies focused on concepts of self, theories of emotions, and the roles that music and everyday social activities play in self-cultivational practices and emotional transformation.

I am an avid middle and long distance runner and compete at a high level on the masters circuit both locally and nationally. My running is integrated into my life and informs my practice of mindfulness and therapy. Music is central to my daily life.
