Ohana Treatment Center

with Dr. Susan Swick

Friday, January 10, 2020

11:30 am - 2:00 pm

Lunch Provided, Speaker Presentation and Networking

Non-CEU Event (see note below)

Join us as we start the new year deepening our connection to the community by learning about a new community resource, Ohana Treatment Center, with Dr. Susan Swick.  Ohana’s groundbreaking approach to child and adolescent behavioral health was made possible by a $105 million gift from Roberta Bialeck Elliott to Montage Health.  This generous donation laid the groundwork for Dr. Swick to lead a team and create programming to transform mental healthcare for children and adolescents.  Ohana’s standard of care and therapeutic approach will likely become the model for treatment of young people replicated throughout the nation.  Dr. Swick was chosen to lead Ohana after a national search for an innovator in the field.

Before joining Ohana, Dr. Swick was chief of the division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts. She completed her training at Columbia University and Harvard Medical School. Her focus is to provide skills for children to develop resiliency that will prepare them for adulthood.  She has a passion for the field, empathy, warmth, excellent communication skills and is creating a much-needed treatment center for our community.

**Please note that this event will provide information about an important new community resource, rather than clinical training/education.  Because of the nature of this event, continuing education units will not be offered.  We will resume with our CEU offerings in February.**
