We will meet by the restrooms right next to the Ranger Station inside the gate. You can parallel park along hwy 1 and walk in the gate. You will not have to pay to enter by foot. Please call Amy if you get lost or are registered and unable to make it. (831) 200-3227
Point Lobos Loop Trail: Moderate, 6.3 mile loop. 2 hour duration (There are many shorter trail options if the group wants to shorten the hike.)
Point Lobos Loop Trail takes you on a coastal adventure along the gorgeous Pacific Ocean just miles south of Carmel-by-the-Sea and a quick drive from San Francisco or Big Sur. Visitors will encounter a variety of environments, flora, and fauna from lush Monterey pine and Cypress groves to coastal shrub-covered coastline with ocean views to tide pools along the rocky beaches. Expect to see sea lions, shorebirds, and all sorts of ocean wildlife. Point Lobos State Natural Reserve has a network of well-maintained hiking trails. Highlights along this guided walk include Whalers Cove, Bluefish Cove, Sealion Cove, and China Cove. Park authorities limit the number of cars allowed in Point Lobos, so depending on when you visit, you may leave your car outside the park on Highway 1 and walk in. There are plenty of restrooms and rest spots along this route.
We will be reaching out to all registrants to collect cell phone numbers the day before just in case we run into trail closures or inclement weather and have to adjust or cancel.
Please review our Psych Hike Activity Guidelines and Legal Waiver before registering. When you register, you’ll receive the link to sign and return your waiver. Once we have this from you, you will not need to sign it again for future hikes.
Due to the nature of this event, no CEs are offered.
