Monterey County Chapter

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

If you are considering joining MC-CAMFT we  invite you to read over the many benefits that chapter membership provides. We are proud of the very active chapter we have in Monterey County and of the generous spirit of its members. Being a therapist can be a lonely and isolating profession.  If you want a sense of community, camaraderie and support for the important work you are doing, this is place to meet other therapists in our area.

We also provide a chance to have fun and socialize with like-minded people.  Becoming a Board Member is also an excellent way to jump-start your involvement in the local therapist community.

MC-CAMFT benefits include:

Various Events throughout the Year

Our chapter meetings are held six times a year.  For upcoming events, schedule, and details see Events. At each of the luncheon meetings we feature a guest speaker sharing expertise on topics of interest to therapists.  MC-CAMFT members receive a discounted luncheon fee, and CEUs are also free to members. Meetings are an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues, trade business cards, distribute flyers, announce events, expand your professional referral base and meet new clinicians in the area.

Mentorship Program

MC-CAMFT is proud to offer a Mentorship Program. The purpose of this program is to pair licensed MFTs/LCSWs with late term interns and newly licensed MFTs and LCSWs in order to assist with general questions concerning the profession and relevant issues.

Bi-Annual Workshop

Every other year we host an all-day workshop and bring in outstanding speakers.

Mailing Labels, Advertising & Classified Ads

Members of the chapter and other professionals in the community are able to buy chapter mailing labels. The price for members is significantly less than for non-members. Members may also advertise in the newsletter via ads or flyers. Advertising is available for other organizations, individuals and agencies who are interested in publicizing information, services, events relevant to psychotherapy.

Host a Salon

Take advantage of a great opportunity to shine in front of our membership by hosting a casual 2-3 hour presentation and/or Q&A on a topic of your choice. Gain exposure to your expertise and earn CEUs while doing so.

Other Programs and Events

From time to time, special events and programs are hosted by our chapter. We have hosted a panel of family law attorneys and therapists, and more recently an evening member speaker series to accommodate those members unable to attend the Friday luncheon meetings. Each year we host a chapter party, alternating between a holiday party and a fall mixer. This offers  an opportunity for members to socialize in a more casual and celebratory atmosphere.
