Biography
Change and growth can happen at any time . I believe that both are on-going process and are met by many challenges by using unhealthy learned behaviors to cope with these challenges. It can be addressed by recognizing the unhealthy behaviors and practice using healthy ones. I'll be open, honest and authentic with you-in sessions-I'm here to help, not fix you. I make it a point to do my best to support anyone who choose to change their life--its not an easy task-it's one that is on-going, evolving and wondrous. My approach comes from many years working in Addiction/Substance use field before entering psychotherapy, with both approaches,I've found the journey to self can be quite a rebellious act against the negatives ways of thinking, behaving, and beliefs that stand in anyone's way towards healing.
My background in education, and been in U.S History, studying at UC Santa Cruz with obtaining a B.A. in U.S. History, then onto San Francisco State University for a M.A. in US. History. Then I took a break, discovered that I'm pretty good at helping folks in recovery ( Ive been in recovery for 27 years), studied at UC Berkeley extensions in an Alcohol and Drug program, which led me to seek another MA In Counseling Psychology with John F. Kennedy University. All this to say, I found ways to help others to focus on healing themself...I'm not here to fix you but to help you on a path, a revolutionary path towards healing. It takes a revolution to make personal changes and I am more than willing to help you.
